margraten_1945About us

We are a group people with a common interest: we all have adopted one or more graves at one of the cemeteries this database covers. We have met each other at the Adoptiegraven.nl forum. There, an idea was initiated a few years ago to found a database where everyone would be able to seek for information about the men and women who are buried at the American War Cemeteries Ardennes, Henri-Chapelle and Margraten. They give their lives for our freedom and we hope that we are able to pay them the respect they deserve.

The Fields of Honor - Database is a project of the Dutch non-profit organization Stichting Verenigde Adoptanten Amerikaanse Oorlogsgraven (Foundation United Adopterss American War Graves). For more information about this foundation, please visit our website (click).

We ask you for help!

We are working hard to make sure every soldier gets the same respect by creating for each soldier a personal page in this WWII database. One day, we hope to have added information about each soldier buried in or commemorated on each of these three cemeteries. We hope that you want to help us to achieve this. Are you an adopter or do you know more about a soldier who is buried at these cemeteries or listed there on the Walls of the Missing: we look forward to hearing from you! Of course, we will not pass on your personal information to other organizations. We will only add to the database the information about the soldiers and the photos of the soldiers that you have sent to us.

If you want to send us input, we kindly ask you to use the following form:

Volunteers
So far, information about approximately 12,800 soldiers has already been added to our Fields of Honor database. However, information about approximately 10,300 other soldiers has still not been added to our database yet. Gathering and adding information about these men takes a lot of effort and time. Therefore, we are looking for people who want to join our team of volunteers to help us to honor each man and woman buried in these cemeteries. If you are interested to work with us on this project and/or if you have any questions, please contact us at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
